India Trip Day 2: Appam & Ice Cream

We landed early on a Sunday morning. After a two-hour drive from Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhencherry, the sun was up.

We started to settle in at my uncle and aunt’s house, where we ate appam and sugar for breakfast. Then we walked down the street to my other uncle and aunt’s house, where my mom grew up. I was ecstatic for my little kids to walk the path there.

With the 11-hour time difference, the kids fell asleep that afternoon. Later, we had an ice cream tasting for my cousin Merlin’s engagement ceremony coming up.
