Feb 2012 – Homemade steak for birthday/Valentine’s dinner by Sajan.
April 2012 – Meatball Sub a la Tim K Thomas. This is the best meatball sub known to humankind.
Favorite restaurant=Zelko Bistro. I order Captain’s Fried Chicken (with a Capn Crunch cereal coating) every time. Even Layla could finish this plate it’s so good. She dug into my mashed potatoes hands first the last time.
May 2012 – I began a love affair with Kerala Kitchen on Murphy Road. Their butter chicken was off the chain. I ate here during lunch and even bought some for my coworkers, who raved. This affair abruptly ended when my husband picked up food one evening that was cold and tasteless.
Guru Burger. Best burger on earth. Locally made soft, sweet bread. I’m partial to the Ukulele Burger with its fried gooey egg and thin-sliced ham. But everything is good.
November 2012 – Smothered pork chops, yams, collard greens and mashed potatoes with gravy. And would you believe it was all supreme, but the gravy was the best thing on the plate? From This Is It Soul Food on Blodgett.
Gigi’s Cupcakes Kentucky Bourbon Pie. The icing is piled on, but it’s not overly sweet. The cupcake is moist inside and crispety crunchy with pecans and chocolate chips. I heart cream cheese frosting.
