- BURGERS
After the Chronicle’s Alison Cook published “The Year in Burgers,” the talk of the town was where one could find the best burger joints.
I called upon a few friends and The Burger Committee commenced. Our mission? To unearth Houston’s hot burger hole-in-the-walls. Each held a piece of Houston culture. Oddly enough, we started a Biggest Loser contest shortly after.

Where’s my paper? Our one-year anniversary.
Today is day 367 of wedded bliss with Sajan. 367 days down, a lifetime to go.
Traditionally, gifts of paper are exchanged on the first-year anniversary. We opted for a weekend getaway in good ol’ San Antonio, Texas.
In one year, we’ve traveled to Oklahoma, Dallas, Arizona and parts of Houston for three engagement ceremonies and nine weddings. We bought a house and mowed the lawn. We planted fruit trees and flowers in the yard. Sajan painted the half bath bright red. We explored the world of cooking, which included bouts of a smoke-filled house. The burger committee commenced. What odd highlights, right?
